Dear Santa,
I trust this letter finds you well, amidst the hustle and bustle of the North Pole.
How is your snowy abode? I have heard some troubling news about the North Pole; the glaciers are melting faster than ever, and the sea ice is disappearing. I was wondering if you and your reindeer have contingent plans for a possible relocation. Here in Utah the scorching summer heat has led to water shortages and our children suffer from asthma all year-round due to air pollution from gas guzzling cars.
Just in case you didn’t know, let me assure you I have been good all year. I was hoping to switch things up this year and go for an eco-friendly gift. How about some sleek solar panels? I am quite sure the panels won’t fit down the chimney, but don’t worry, leaving them on the roof would be fine.
On another note, Santa, let’s talk about a gift for everyone — a safe and healthy planet. It is heartening to see the House sporting the Bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus and the Conservative Climate Caucus sponsored by Rep. John Curtis. It would be fantastic if in 2024 our Sens. Mike Lee and Mitt Romney, and Reps. John Curtis, Blake Moore, Burgess Owens and Celeste Maloy prioritize work on climate legislation like the Energy Innovation Act; giving us more money in our pockets and a cooler planet. It’s high time we all come together for the greater good!
As you embark on your worldwide journey, could you also spread the word about the need for climate solutions? A nudge from Santa can go a long way!
Hoping your sleigh finds a smooth landing in Utah this year, despite the lack of snow!
Sincerely, the girl on the nice list.
