Letter: Now’s the time to have your say on potential roadwork in upper Mill Creek Canyon
(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Fall colors make for a vibrant drive in Mill Creek Canyon on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021.
Salt Lake County Planning and Transportation is accepting comments on reconstructing 4.5 miles of road in upper Mill Creek Canyon.
If you love this place and its natural setting, if you go there often or just once in a while to enjoy the quiet, or if you have any concerns about changes the new road will include — including five parking lots, tree removal, retaining walls, creek realignment and curve straightening — please send in a comment.
Or, if you think spending $20 million ($4.4 million per mile) is an issue, please comment on that.
To read about the project and leave a comment, go to https://slco.org/planning-transportation/millcreek-road-improvements. The deadline is July 10.
