It’s truly a testament to the talent of Duran Duran that my family and I left the show in a good mood after the lousy mood we were in after dealing with the excessive security policies upon entry to the Delta Center.
It was not just pat downs and metal detectors. There were purse size restrictions and supposedly all this was printed on the tickets. Funny, I don’t remember receiving a ticket — just a barcode from Ticketmaster. I think even the security personnel were embarrassed.
Granted, Duran Duran fans are notorious for being thugs and gang bangers, so maybe the over-the-top security was necessary but this will factor into my choice to attend any future events there.
