Letter: What are Salt Lake City’s traffic engineers thinking as they try to strangle our traffic flow?

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) “Out of the Blue" at the roundabout at 900 South 1100 East In Salt Lake City on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

There might be some logic behind narrowing 900 South at Liberty Park as wanderers wend their way to the wide armed whale on the 1100 East round-about. But the plan put forward to narrow 2100 South in Sugar House to one lane at the often already congested 1100 East intersection is worthy of the madness of King Lear.

With Salt Lake City’s ever-expanding population, and the building of oversized multi-unit housing complexes right there, what are our traffic engineers thinking as they try to strangle our traffic flow?
