Does The Tribune really want to be known as the anti-Mormon paper again? To be clear, I am not a believer, having resigned from the church thirty years ago. But I am sick and tired of Gordon Monson’s thinly veiled crusade under the guise of legitimate criticism. While I concur with many of his proposed reforms, his noxious rhetoric betrays his real intent. If he wants to be an agent of change, he would do well to study Peggy Fletcher Stack’s respectful reporting and analysis.
If The Tribune wants to give Monson free rein on the church, it should as a minimum consign him to the editorial page. He is not a reporter.
