So, as of this writing, a House committee has advanced a bill allowing a pregnant woman to use the HOV Lane. Rep. Stephanie Gricius (R-Eagle Mountain), the bill’s sponsor, calls it “life affirming.” I’m never surprised by the head-scratching, mean-spirited antics of our Legislature, but this one is completely asinine.
A pregnant woman is actually two people? Perhaps we should make her pay for two movie tickets, two airline seats, or two buffets at Chuck-a-Rama.
