Letter: Op-ed illuminating plight of the LGBTQ community should be read by all

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Tools of the trade backstage, where drag queens and kings apply their makeup for a Utah State University drag show.

Kurt McLaughlin’s piece, “Drag queens aren’t terrorists. They are the targets,” should be read by all. If you missed it, please go back and read it. His description of the issues the LGBTQ community is forced to live with because of the hate-filled rhetoric promoted by some politicians and hate groups is necessary reading for all. It is a well-written, concise essay with many examples of this serious problem facing members of our families, our neighbors and our community.
