On Dec. 8 The Salt Lake Tribune posted (on page A2) that they would no longer print the daily TV schedule. The reason given was that “cable boxes and subscriptions offer a TV guide.” That is true for cable and satellite television providers (such as Comcast and Dish). But many homes have dropped these expensive TV providers in favor of selected internet streaming services and local TV channels via digital antenna. How then does this local viewer get the TV schedule for local channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 13, 14, 30, etc.?
At the same time, and not stated in this announcement, The Salt Lake Tribune dropped the TV schedule for local, university, and professional sports that is usually found on page 2 of the sports section. For as much content that the Salt Lake Tribune dedicates to sports, how does it make sense to not publicize the times and TV networks to see those events?
