Letter: Remember that Lee prayed to deny Americans medical care — and vote him out

(Bill O'Leary | Pool) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, left, speaks with Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, on Capitol Hill in Washington.

All that Utah voters need to know about Mike Lee is in the second paragraph of the recent Tribune article, “Can McMullin unseat Lee.” Sen. Ted Cruz relates how he “huddled with Lee, a committed Latter-day Saint … to read the Bible, pray together and invoke God’s blessing on their efforts to protect Americans from Obamacare.”

What God would want to deny medical care to His people, or, if they could get care, to be faced with costs that could drive them to bankruptcy and/or homelessness?

Of course, Lee doesn’t have to worry about medical care — he’s a senator and his medical bills are paid for by those Americans he’s trying to protect from Obamacare!

I hope Utahns have had enough of Mike Lee’s cruelty and hypocrisy to vote him out in November.
