I must commend the writers of the Lake Powell water shortage article of Feb. 23. I say commend, as I applaud the multi-talented abilities of said journalists to simultaneously pen a featured piece, while at the same time put on blinders and tactfully tap dance around the words “golf courses.”
Apparently, no one can seem to grow a backbone and admit these wasteful monstrosities are a large part of the water consumption problem. In my 70-odd years, I cannot recall going a single week without passing several, which seem to have an unquenchable thirst for daily needless watering.
It’s funny how almost everyone looks away and says nothing. Better to go short on drinking water or hydroelectric power than to, God forbid, offend those golfers.
