Letter: Shouldn’t we accept Wilcox’s apology and move on?

(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) Bradley R. Wilcox, second counselor in the Young Men general presidency, speaks at General Conference on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021.

Poor Brad Wilcox. Did he misspeak or was he misunderstood or a mixture of both. He is sorry for what he said and has apologized. Shouldn’t we accept this apology and move on?

Those who do not want to let this go should remember a comment made by the greatest person who ever lived on this Earth. In an episode in his life some 2000 years ago accusers at his time pressured him to condemn someone who had done wrong. He said in response, paraphrasing for our time that, “he or she that has never made a mistake should be the first to cast blame.” Charity toward others is a much better choice.
