Letter: We have rules and community expectations to maintain civility

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) People take in the events at the Best of Utah NCAA Gymnastics Meet at the Maverik Center in West Valley City on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022.

At the beginning of each school year I read a story to my class. The story was intended to explain why we have rules in school, and why everyone should follow rules in a community. “The Kingdom with No Rules, No Laws, and No King” by Norman Stiles is a good read. We have rules and community expectations — not to control others, but to help everyone get along and to maintain civility.

I recommend everyone read it. I quickly found an uploaded copy online with a simple search.
