Letter: Let’s quit fretting about low birth rates and make use of the many people already in this world

(Julio Cortez | AP) Migrants walk on a dirt road after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in Mission, Texas.

I keep hearing how terrible it is that our birth rate is dropping.

Seems to me it’s the perfect time to rework our immigration policies and import some of these people of the world that are willing and hopeful to come to America to work and make a better life for themselves. Some of these people migrating from destructive places in this world (Latin countries, Haiti, Afghanistan, etc) are people who held the types of jobs we need in this country (child care, CNAs, dental assistants, etc.) Let’s quit fretting about low birth rates and make use of the many people already in this world.
