Letter: Still waiting to see what the rich and corporations are going to pay for

(Evan Vucci | AP) President Joe Biden gestures as he takes questions from members of the media after speaking about the bipartisan infrastructure bill from the East Room of the White House, Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, in Washington. Vice President Kamala Harris listens at left.

One of Joe Biden’s campaign pledges was “the rich and corporations are going to pay their fair share.” I was not sure what that was going to look like, but okay I thought, let’s see what you got in mind.

President Biden then goes on to propose a mind boggling budget increase in spending. Again with the promise that the “rich and corporations are going to pay for it.”

He has been in office now going on nine months and, to date, we have not seen this legislation where the rich and corporations are going to pay for anything. Meanwhile, Congress is going to pass a budget that puts America deeper in debt.

Guess we can put the phrase, “the rich and corporations are going to pay for it,” with the phrase, “we are going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it.”
