Letter: How does burning masks square with the suffering caused by COVID-19?

Way to go Idaho! You are now famous for more than potatoes. Well done.

I loop my mask over my ears as I walk into the grocery store and I click in my seat belt as I drive away from the grocery store ... could someone please explain the difference?

I get it … maybe the mask burning thing is just a symbolic gesture to proclaim your independence from government oversight. Good for you. Please tell that to the families of over 525,000 of our fellow citizens whose loved ones said their goodbyes via cell phone or facetime -- and then died alone. I can’t even imagine the pain.

We are better than this.

Bill Owens, Sandy
