Please pass on our thanks to Robert Kirby for his plainspeak and unsanitized and funny columns. We’ve taken The Tribune since 1979 and began enjoying his refreshing take soon after.
I benefited from his religious clarity. I am LDS with a nonmember husband and 2 (out of 3) religiously disgruntled children.
His words: “Forever is God’s business;” “One of the great ironies of religion occurs when worry over the next life screws up this one;” don’t “become the prod in prodigal;” and, when we let our sadness mess up our relationships, “consider the very real possibility that you’re an idiot.”
Thank you, Mr. Kirby. You will be missed.
