Letter: If Trump evades justice, what does it mean to uphold the Constitution?

I can’t get it through my head that Trump will apparently be acquitted of crimes we all witnessed with our very own eyes. I need serious help to understand this.

He questioned the integrity of the election long before he actually lost, telegraphing his plan to cry foul and prevent the peaceful transition of power, his own ego being more important than everything else.

I get that history’s best con man was able to convince many people that the “sacred” election was stolen ... from the most powerful man in the world.

But really, how can people sworn to uphold the Constitution uphold that lie? The lie that every single one of them knows is a lie. Does swearing an oath mean nothing now?

History will shame them -- for all their descendants to see, and to carry in their bones.
