We all know that this has been a rough year for restaurants and bars. A liquor license from the state of Utah costs thousands of dollars to renew each year. The renewal date was extended to Dec. 20, so many bar and restaurant owners are getting ready to write a substantial check to the state of Utah while the state sits on $307 million in CARES Act funds. A miniscule portion of that could have been used to give bars and restaurants a little break during a time when we are pinching every penny to keep our businesses alive by waiving liquor license renewal fees.
