Letter: Just build a wall to keep the wolves out

(Dawn Villella | AP file photo) This July 16, 2004, file photo, shows a gray wolf at the Wildlife Science Center in Forest Lake, Minn. Two groups opposing a Colorado ballot initiative to reintroduce the gray wolf into the state conceded the race Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, even though the race is too early to call because thousands of ballots are still uncounted.

For the livestock farmers in the eastern counties bordering Colorado, there is a simple, Trumpian solution to the threat of their wolves to your flocks/herds — your county councils can build a wall along the border, and make Colorado pay for it.

And if Colorado refuses to pay, impose a significant tariff on the marijuana being smuggled into or through Utah. This is even more of a Trumpian solution, in that it ignores the constitutional bans on any state interfering in interstate commerce.
