Letter: The anticipation of Nov. 3

(Olivier Douliery | Pool via AP) President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden participate in the first presidential debate Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, at Case Western University and Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland.

When I was a kid in the late ’50s and early ’60s, I kept fervent track on a bedside calendar of the remaining days until fishing season began (aka, school ending), and then the days until Ute football and basketball season started.

Sixty years later, I am now counting down and checking off the days until we can vote the “current occupant” out of the White House. Nothing in recent times even approaches the excitement and anticipation that I currently feel about this looming date — Tuesday, Nov. 3.

And, after the 90-minute train wreck we had to suffer through to try to improve our knowledge of the candidates' positions, we got “skunked” for sure.

Given that unbelievable and possibly PTSD-creating experience, I have but one question. Why is anyone even considering voting for DJ Trump? As Milton Berle might have said if he were alive today, “Have we run out of human beings?”

Check, check, check, and counting…
