In answer to the question about who pays for Rep. Ben McAdams’ political ads, without knowing the specifics, I would say me and hundreds of voters like me. He is likely also supported by the national Democratic apparatus, which is also supported by small and large donors alike.
McAdams has the peculiar “advantage” of being supported well beyond his district due to the outrageous gerrymandering in this state. He is not technically my representative, but I and many others all over the state consider him to be a great asset for us. He may or may not always vote the way we would like, but his party and political positions, along with his explanations for his votes, are close enough to mine.
My representative, so-called, doesn’t represent me but there is virtually no chance at all that he will be defeated, so I support and contribute to Ben McAdams.
