Letter: Apologize for despicable cartoon

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Police supporters upset by a Pat Bagley cartoon, pose for a group photos after protesting The Salt Lake Tribune, in West Valley City, on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020.

In regard to Pat Bagley’s despicable cartoon (Sept. 1).

What were you thinking? In my opinion, you owe your readership and the law enforcement community the apology they have asked for.

Have you now lost your way and become unethical advocates for social causes instead of journalists? You must know that the KKK has no influence with police, especially here, but they have worked to hold the KKK accountable everywhere for decades.

Policemen are all races and colors and are doing their best to make everyone in America able to live in freedom And without fear, regardless of race, color or creed.

Individual police may make some mistakes but they are not systemically racist. How could you possibly sponsor Pat Bagley’s message of hate and help foment violence and evil? I used to be a fan of your paper’s editorial content as a balance and alternative point of view in this state, but you have now crossed an unpardonable line. Please show us that you can repent this evil action.
