Letter: Nothing matters to Trump except his reelection
(Anna Moneymaker | New York Times file photo) President Donald Trump in the Oval Office of the White House on Aug. 28, 2020.
The American people should be absolutely disgusted by the sight of 1,500 Trump supporters gathering for the final night of the Republican National Convention with no requirements for masks or social distancing. And this on a day where we lost 1,260 lives in our country to this virus. This man has basically “given up” on the virus and the White House response to the NBA strike as “silly and absurd” seems to confirm that, at least to this administration, Black lives don’t matter. Apparently, nothing matters to Donald Trump except his reelection, and it’s sad that his followers continue to bury their heads in the sand and refuse to even consider alternatives.
