During the past several years, we have had two presidential candidates lose the popular vote yet win the presidency because of the Electoral College votes. Heaven forbid that this happens again this coming November and Donald Trump is reelected president.

My family and I are completely against the Electoral College determining who should be our president. It should be those citizens who cast their ballots.

One last thing: Please someone save the post office!

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
