Donald Trump made political history this past month: governing while golfing.
He teed off on Friday night with an astounding press conference, one never held by any previous president in history. He invited several wealthy members of his golf resort in New Jersey (Bedminster) as an audience at his press conference. It included few children. The appreciative audience responded with clapping and exhortations at appropriate points.
Later in the weekend, he issued four executive orders (probably unconstitutional) dealing with the economic consequences of COVID-19.
Apparently he had just finished the 18th hole and realized he had forgotten to do the government’s business.
He later retired to the lounge to chat with his acolytes about his handicap. It was large.
