Letter: I am perfectly comfortable with my school reopening

Thank you, Ben Henderson, for your July 30 op-ed about teachers who are not against reopening schools this fall. The media makes it sound like most teachers oppose opening schools.

I do realize that some school districts are struggling, but I don't think this is the case in Granite School District. I recently attended a faculty meeting at my school about reopening. After reviewing the safety plans, I am perfectly comfortable with the reopening of my school. Everything was carefully thought out and I couldn't think of anything additional that could be done to improve safety. I appreciate the state school board supporting local districts and schools to create their individual plans.

The news outlets make it sound like all schools and parents are floundering trying to decide what to do. This is just simply not the case. The plan that was presented by Granite District and my school has taken every precaution to protect students and teachers. I look forward to beginning school.
