Letter: Trump is wrong about America

(Evan Vucci | AP file photo) President Donald Trump listens during a briefing at U.S. Southern Command, Friday, July 10, 2020, in Doral, Fla.

President Trump’s remarks over the Fourth of July weekend were dark and divisive. He wants us to believe that anyone who doesn’t agree with his worldview hates our country. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I choose to support racial justice and equality because I love our country. I choose to fight for environmental protections because I love our country. I choose to stand for Dreamers, Native Americans, the poor and marginalized because I love our country. I choose to speak out against hate and divisiveness and political extremism because I love our country.

I am a Democrat. I choose to run for the Utah Legislature because I love this country.
