Letter: Private Bone Spurs makes me sick

(Susan Walsh | AP file photo) President Donald Trump waves from the top of the steps of Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Md., Friday, July 10, 2020.

When I was 2 years old, my father left to fight in World War II and came back with a Purple Heart and injuries that plagued him for the rest of his life. All five of his brothers also served in the military.

His father (my grandfather) served in France in World War I. Both of my paternal grandparents were descendants of those who were in America before it was America. My grandmother's great-grandfather served in the war of 1812 and, further back, two more on her side served in the American Revolutionary War. My grandfather also had direct ancestors, both father and son, who served in the Revolutionary War.

So when Private Bone Spurs refers to “my military” and exonerates the traitor Michael Flynn, excuse me if I get nauseous.

We now know that the Taliban gets a bounty from Vladimir Putin for the murder of American soldiers. This has been known since 2019. Private Bone Spurs said he didn’t know, but it’s damned hard to know if you don’t read your security briefings.

Whatever Putin has on him must be extraordinary. He is a shameless, gutless coward who should be removed from office.

My ancestors are turning over in their graves.

Micki Moulton, Taylorsville
