I hear repeatedly the following statements: “Defund the police,” “Abolish the police and give the funding to the social services.”
What if?
911 operator: "What is the problem?"
Caller: "My boyfriend is drunk. He has a gun and is shooting holes in the walls and said he will kill me and my baby if I don't get him some beer but he won't let me out of the house!"
911 operator: "I have an agent from AA coming in a few hours for your boyfriend and an appointment for you with social services next Tuesday."
Ridiculous? Yes.
