The current administration is bent on opening oil and gas leases that would directly impact southern Utah’s national parks and monuments. The lease amount has even been reduced to incentivise exploration companies. That makes no sense. It is just a blow to public places, quiet places where we need to have open space, not oil rigs. The money to the agency might not be enough to make a difference, but it might ruin Moab.
Please take a moment to call your representatives and tell them not to allow oil and gas lease sales near national parks and monuments. It's an easy way to protest.
