In the 2016 presidential election, many Republicans in Utah could not force themselves to vote for a Democrat, so they voted for third-party candidate Evan McMullin. Mitt Romney actually cast his vote for his wife, Ann. I read that Romney is pondering whether to write-in Ann once again in 2020.
I personally know many good people who voted for McMullin in 2016. How counterproductive! Is it not apparent that the outcome of such protest votes against Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, were actually votes for Donald J. Trump?
Come on, people, if you can’t abide Trump, stand up and vote for Democrat Joe Biden, a person whose name actually appears on the ballot and who could very well win. It’s pretty darn clear to me that there are a plethora of Republicans in Utah who do not approve of Trump.
Biden will be a “healer in chief,” not a divider like Trump. He is a foreign affairs expert. With his senatorial and vice presidency experience, he is clearly ready and able to assume the presidency. Biden is compassionate, empathetic, decent and capable. He will surround himself with a cadre of knowledgeable experts to fill his cabinet. Biden is a true patriot.
Trump is a despot. Biden cares for the American people. Trump cares only for himself. We must not hand over another four years to Trump and give him the power to further erode our precious and hard-fought democracy.
