Letter: Utah doesn’t need any tax incentives

In addition to the usual news in Sunday’s Salt Lake Tribune about the virus and Donald Trump’s absolute inability to deal with it, there was an article about Utah bringing three new companies to Utah with the help of tax incentives.

Why on earth does the state of Utah need to lure more businesses here in view of our crowded roads, lack of affordable housing, over-crowded schools and disappearance of open spaces? Such thinking, or lack of thought, reminds me of Edward Abbey’s quotation: “Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell.”

I’m sure I’m not the only one who needs just a bit of uplifting information.
