Trillions of dollars are being spent on remedying the damage caused by the deteriorating economy, and trillions more are contemplated.
Recent legislation was complex, to say the least. Any additional proposed legislation is likely to be the same.
Setting aside the fact that large parts of the legislation, combined by actions by the Federal Reserve, will indeed provide much needed financial assistance to employers, employees and specially the unemployed, I am deeply puzzled as to why Congress has not introduced single-purpose legislation to allocate the needed financial resources to facilitate massive testing for everyone who wants/needs it. Many of our states are cash-strapped; the feds must assume this financial responsibility.
The cost would pale in comparison to politically motivated, pork laden, complex approaches. America would see a V-shaped recovery, and its residents will feel safe again.
