How long must this nation endure our Mafia president? This nation deserves better.
The essay in The Atlantic last year by George Packer describing “The Mafia Style in American Politics” developed by Donald Trump’s mentor Roy Cohn during the McCarthy era is an accurate description of the depth of corruption, dishonesty and fraud that has allowed Trump to deceive many voters.
To be blunt, Trump is fundamentally a Gadianton robber, a Mafia guy or, as Rep. Chris Stewart affectionately called him “our Mussolini.”
Trump’s continued incompetence includes at least a month of delay in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic while some senators quietly sold their stock portfolios.
He also has been making absurd and unscientifically sound suggestions of harmful “treatments” for the COVID-19 virus.
If more attention is regularly called to his constant pathological lying, corruption, fraud and complete inability to effectively lead this nation by political and religious leaders, then perhaps some Republican voters will be forced to realize that he is not deserving of reelection as our president.
It is unethical for leaders to sit quietly on the sidelines and be intimidated by this bully and evil man. One powerful man can destroy a nation.
