Letter: Ignorance and denial have hurt us all

(Andrew Harnik | AP file photo) President Donald Trump speaks about the coronavirus in the James Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House, Thursday, April 9, 2020, in Washington.

Our self-proclaimed “stable genius” asserted that climate change was a Chinese hoax, removed our country from the Paris Climate Accord and continues to eviscerate EPA guidelines increasing risk for our clean water and air standards.

His ignorance and denial of basic science led to his embarrassing belief the COVID-19 pandemic was a Democratic hoax, and his slow and poorly managed response likely led to needless additional citizens deaths while we still struggle to produce enough protective wear and tests.

His thin-skinned ego has displayed a new skill when trying to answer tough reporters’ questions — the Art of the Dodge.

Regardless of his intellect and character deficits, our nation will succeed in taming this deadly invisible enemy. Let’s not make the same mistake in November.
