Letter: Remembering Allen Park

(Leah Hogsten | Tribune file photo) The community of Allen Park, located across the street from Westminster College off 1300 East north of Westminster Avenue, is vacant and dilapidated, Jan 16, 2020, since the tenants were evicted a year ago.

During this time of uncertainty, panic and stress, it was so refreshing to read about the revival of Allen Park.

It was 1970 and I was enrolled at Westminster College, conveniently located across the street. My boyfriend — now husband — lived in one of those tiny cabins with his close friends. It was our gathering place every weekend for playing poker, listening to music and other activities not to be mentioned.

I look forward to revisiting Hobbitville. The best memories were made there. Thank you for making my day.
