I am sheltering-in-place, as I trust many of you are also doing, and I realize that my days are very much “Groundhog Day”-esque. I have a routine that repeats itself day after day.
Unlike Bill Murray’s character in that 1993 movie, I am finding the repetitive nature of my days to be calming and reassuring. There will always be a dog walk, weather permitting. On one of our walks this week, my attention was drawn to childlike writing on a particular sidewalk that my dog fancies.
I had not noticed these words the day before: “Best is yet to come,” “Have a nice day,” “Life is good,” “Live, laugh, love,” and the last phrase, “It will all work out.”
At this time of uncertainty, these words, written in pastel chalk, caused me to pause, smile and to look above me to the beautiful blue sky on this particularly sunny day in my neighborhood.
