Letter: Nothing political about our needs
(Patrick Semansky | AP file photo) President Donald Trump speaks as Vice President Mike Pence listens during a meeting with supply chain distributors in the Cabinet Room of the White House, Sunday, March 29, 2020, in Washington.
President Trump, Vice President Pence and members of Congress:
What are you doing today to get hospitals the ventilators they desperately need? What are you doing today to get health care professionals the personal protective equipment they desperately need?
There is nothing political about this need. There are not different sides to this need. This need requires no debate — unlike other issues currently gripping learned people — such as solution impacts versus problem impacts or individuals versus corporations.
Those are all things that need to be worked out, but you have the power right now to address this need — get them the supplies. Do whatever it takes.
