Letter: How is the LDS Church helping out?

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) The statue of Moroni atop the Salt Lake temple, damaged in an earthquake in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

I would think now is a perfect time to see an article in The Tribune about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints using some of that rainy day $100 billion fund to help all those in our community that are in desperate need of some charity.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
