Letter: Not like the others
(Patrick Semansky | AP) First lady Melania Trump presents the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh as his wife Kathryn watches during the State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020.
You probably remember Sesame Street’s song “One of these things is not like the others.”
Here is a sampling of Presidential Medal of Freedom recipients in chronological order for the past half-century. All were involved with the media and politics of their day, selected by both Democratic and Republican presidents: Edward R. Murrow, Lowell Thomas, Walter Cronkite, William F. Buckley, David Brinkley, Paul Harvey, William Safire, Ben Bradley, Tom Brokaw ... Rush Limbaugh.
One of these things is not like the others.
