Letter: Lee is Trump’s trained seal

(Rick Egan | Tribune file photo) Sen. Mike Lee speaks at the Utah Eagle Forum Convention, in Sandy, Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020.

While President Trump trashed Sen. Mitt Romney for his impeachment vote, Sen. Mike Lee was in the audience performing his new role as a court jester and acting like a trained seal. The only thing Lee didn’t do was bounce a ball off his nose. Guess that’s next.

Trump attacked Romney’s religion and values, the same religion and values shared by Lee and most of his Utah constituents. But rather than standing up for all Utahns by walking out of the room, our rosy-cheeked, trained seal smiled and clapped.

I’d prefer to have someone with integrity and values represent my interests in Washington, not a trained seal.

I’m not ready to call anyone Dear Leader. How about you?
