Letter: I only have one senator now

(Patrick Semansky | AP) Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, arrives before President Donald Trump delivers his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020.

I feel cheated. I find that I only have one senator in Washington, Mike Lee.

While I voted for two senators, the other, although running under one platform, has apparently chosen to agree with the Pelosi/Schumer platform now.

Many of us wondered if Massachusetts thinking really could be exchanged for Utah principles. Myself, and the other Utahns who feel cheated, may not have to wait for four years to correct our vote.

There is hope on the horizon with the discussion in the Utah Legislature on enacting a law allowing for the recall of U.S. senators.

In the meantime, we have to accept the fact that we have only one senator in Washington representing us.

Bill Barton, West Jordan
