Letter: And then I come to my senses

(Susan Walsh AP file photo) President Donald Trump waves from the top of the steps of Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Md., Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.

I sometimes think of the satisfaction of knowing President Trump has been sent by God to save us. I occasionally reflect on the joy that can be felt by understanding that Trump’s tough disposition as a “Christian Soldier” has been chosen by the Lord to protect us from the Dark Side.

Great peace can be savored by standing for freedom, justice for all, being good stewards of the planet and godly behaviors in thought, word, and deed.

Then, I stop these musings and come to my senses. I feel bewildered and betrayed that so many family members, friends and fellow citizens would genuinely believe their own balderdash. I try to not be angry with them and decide not to judge them. But fortunately, the judgment will be made in due time. And then, I wish mercy upon them.
