Letter: Don’t let Republicans hide evidence

(Jose Luis Magana | AP file photo) Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, talks to reporters on his way to the Senate chamber on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.

An open letter To Sen. Mitt Romney:

Senator, we may not agree on everything, but I believe you are an honorable man.

One of the saddest things I have read in the recent tale of Republican leadership under Donald Trump goes something like this:

“The Voice said, ‘All these kingdoms will I give thee if thou wilt bow down and worship me.’ And one by one, all the Republican leadership came forward to their new king, and bent the knee.”

Now that wannabe king is on trial for impeachment in the Senate. Your party is trying to hide extensive, firsthand evidence of his involvement in impeachable, in fact criminal, activities.

It seems to me that this is a moment in history where we, our children and the people of the world, need you to do the right thing, not the easy thing. I sincerely hope that you will do it.

Please vote to call witnesses.

Thank you for your service, Senator.
