Letter: There are honest people in the world

(Nati Harnik | AP file photo) Packages travel on a conveyor belt for sorting at the main post office in Omaha, Neb., on Dec. 14, 2017.

At Christmas, we mailed two $100 bills to a relative, and she just received the opened envelope minus the money on Jan. 16.

The next day, we received a certified letter from the main post office in Dallas containing the $200 and a letter of apology stating: “Due to the large volume occasional damage may occur and the postal service makes every effort to handle the mail entrusted to it.”

There are honest people in the world.
