Letter: Here are three huge tax cuts

(Sean P. Means | Tribune file photo) People line up to buy Mega Millions and PowerBall lottery tickets at the La Tienda convenience store in Franklin, Idaho. The store, just north of the Utah state line, is the No. 1 retailer of Idaho lottery tickets and boasts that it is "home of the Utah lottery."

If the Utah Legislature really wants to provide tax relief to the residents of Utah, they need to do three things:

1. Bring the lottery to Utah so Utahns do not need to go to the lottery in Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming.

2. Do away with the property tax exemptions to all properties held by religious entities.

3. Quit giving huge tax exemptions to companies who say they want to come to Utah due to the high quality and amount of trained workers in the state.

There are three huge tax cuts right there.
