Letter: Trump’s hypocrisy doesn’t raise an eyebrow

(Jacquelyn Martin | AP file photo) President Donald Trump speaks at a campaign rally Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, in Toledo, Ohio.

Now we read that the current White House occupant is threatening Iraq with serious repercussions if they expel U.S. troops, even though, as The Washington Post reports, there is “no treaty or status of forces agreement authorizing the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq,” and “American military presence is informal and at the pleasure of the Iraqi government.”

This from the guy who has unilaterally withdrawn from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, the Paris Agreement and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (“Iran nuclear deal”).

There was a time when such vile hypocrisy would have been met with raised eyebrows, at the least. Not in America today, where Trump followers really wouldn't blink if he shot someone in cold blood.
