Letter: Make a plan for voting

(Andrew Harnik | AP file photo) An American flag flies outside the Department of Justice in Washington on March 22, 2019.

You just have to shake your head in wonder, and then make a plan.

We can create a K-9 Veterans Day, but not maintain a bus stop at our VA hospital.

We can close a homeless shelter, and deny full Medicaid expansion.

We (some of us) support drilling for more fossil fuels, yet go on thinking air pollution is just the Utah way of doing business.

We can move Utah to former Gov. Huntsman’s flat income tax, reducing taxes on the wealthy by hundreds of millions and thereby cutting school funding, and now propose increasing the food tax to penalize the poor — because with taxes we must now “broaden the base”!

We (some of us) can support a president with no accountability, then criminalize the homeless for pushing a shopping cart.

The list goes on.

You just have to shake your head in wonder, and then make a plan. I humbly suggest more informed voting.
