Letter: The homeless don’t have friends in high places

(Trent Nelson | Tribune file photo) A man empties his belongings from a shopping cart that is being reclaimed near the Salt Lake City Library on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019. Antonio Hernandez, an employee of Romac, is assigned to drive around the city and pick up stolen or abandoned shopping carts for return to stores.

So having a shopping cart and jaywalking are crimes?

When are we going to punish the elected office holders for the crime of robbing taxpayers to enrich themselves?

Oh, I forgot. The homeless, and the taxpayers in general, don't have friends in high places.

Molly Baird, Salt Lake City
