Letter: Read the rules for annual area cleanups

(Rick Egan | Tribune file photo) A truck collects recycled material in Sugarhouse for the Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District on Friday, July 26, 2019.

People, learn to read. The annual area cleanup within the Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District is a chance to clean up your yards. To trim trees, bushes and other miscellaneous yard stuff. To get rid of unwanted furniture, mattress and appliances — but not everything needs to go into the dumpster.

Read the card that Wasatch Front Waste sends out.

Green waste-tree trimmings, branches, etc., can be shredded. All you have to do is call Wasatch and they will have a truck come on your scheduled pickup day and shred it. The number is on the card. Guess what: You do not have to lift a finger other than pile it up in your yard or driveway.

They will also pick up appliances and all metal items. Guess what: You don’t have to get help to throw it in the dumpster. Mattresses will also be picked up curbside.

Time to be a little more considerate. Take a little time, read the card in its entirety. It will help you and everyone else in your neighborhood.

It will not only leave the dumpsters for everything else, but it will save you some work.
